The Georgetown Company acquired The Sedgewick and The Shelburne in 2012. Located in the heart of Dupont Circle, these properties have a combined 79,000 square feet of rentable space, comprised of 155 apartment units. Both buildings provide stable cash flow, as well as future upside given below market rents and renovation opportunities when outdated units turnover. The Georgetown Company implemented several strategic renovations to enhance the properties, including upgrading select building systems, improving the common areas of both buildings and adding additional units in previously underutilized spaces. Having achieved the business plan, the Georgetown Company sold both buildings in late 2020.
