Michael Fishbin
Michael Fishbin is Managing Director and Head of Hospitality at The Georgetown Company with a focus on growing their hotel development and acquisition portfolio.
Michael is a nationally renowned leader in the Hospitality industry, having served as EY’s Global and Americas Hospitality Leader since 2007. Michael joined EY in 1995 as part of the firm's merger with Kenneth Leventhal & Company. At EY, Michael’s leadership responsibilities included developing and executing the strategic plan for the global hospitality practice. Throughout his career at EY, Michael was recognized for his dedication to career development with a strong focus on diversity and inclusiveness. Michael was a regular speaker at leading industry conferences including ALIS, IHIF, and NYU. Additionally, he served as a long-time member on the Executive Planning Committee for the NYU International Investment Conference. Also, Michael served as an Adjunct Faculty member at NYU’s Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality where he co-authored and taught a course entitled Lodging Development.
In his spare time, Michael devotes a significant amount of energy to charitable and not-for-profit activities. He currently sits as an advisory board member of Rock and Wrap it Up! a non-profit anti-poverty organization that serves the sports, music, education and hotel industries in the fight to alleviate hunger. Recently, Michael and his wife, Dori, were honored with a Humanitarian of the Year Award for greatly expanding the food distribution network through relationships in the Sports and Hospitality sectors.
Michael received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Union College in 1981 and a Master’s degree in Finance from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration in 1984.
