Brooklyn Academy of Music
& Harvey Theater
Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217
The redevelopment and restoration of the Brooklyn Academy of Music & Harvey Theater was at the center of an effort to create a mixed-use art and cultural district in downtown Brooklyn. This $40 million project was led by a Georgetown Company principal who is a Brooklyn Academy of Music board member and head of its real estate committee. Designed with architect Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates, the project included: development of the 900-seat Majestic/Harvey Theater, refurbishment of the Academy’s 1,700-seat Opera House and creation of ancillary movie theaters, café, dining and retail spaces.
